Am I going to get stuck?

Ok. I know it has only been 24 hours since I weighed in yesterday and hit 19 lbs. But! I really, really wanted to get that 20 today! I worked so hard yesterday, but...booo....this morning I weighed exactly the same as yesterday. It could be worse, yes. I am fine with this really, I am just so impatient!! I ate well, I did crunches, I did a little bit of weights, and I did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Including running...at my own wimpy pace...for 10 minutes straight. That is my record! It started out I was only able to do a couple minutes before feeling like I was about to die. Then one day I did 5, then 6, then 7, and yesterday I jumped from 7 to 10. So anyhow I just wish all that effort had pushed me to the 20 lbs mark. It didn't.

Maybe I will wait to weigh-in until Friday morning. Give it a couple of days.
Good luck to me. 20 lbs is an exciting mark that I want to hit!

  1. no biggie.
what about things that you dont think about? i was just talking on d's blog about stuff that might be "forgotten or ignored". like the size of a plate. do you have a smaller plate you can use at meals to possibly reduce the amount of food you serve to begin with; then realizing you dont need to eat as much? you know what i mean? our "american" sized plates are killing us. LOL. but its worth a try. im gonna try it this week too - i knwo if i have the big plate, i fill it. it doesnt matter though if i fill it with salad, im still probably eating twice what i need to eat simply by using that large of a plate....

a food diary. should we keep food diaries on our blogs ? you know, keep track of exactly what we are eating, make ourselves accountable to each other for it? i mean, 2 m&ms, a cup of cereal, that kind of thing? if nothing else, it might make us aware of how much we are eating and what we are eating, even what we are feeling when we are eating.. ive heard it works. it hasnt yet worked for me (i always somehow forget) but maybe simplifying what i eat would help. eating less often? eating simpler things? you know?

anyway, let me know what you think of all that. its some things ive been thinking about trying.. but havent yet finished motivating to do it.

you're gonna hit that 20. remember, swimming upstream at the pool. that might shake things up a little. ps : if we get there it wont be until after 12:30. and i dont have a suit, and i dont know if jeff is coming (he has to work - stupid work). so hope to see you anyway

  2. I was at weight watchers with someone last night who hit a goal of losing 50 pounds....it has taken her 2 years to do it, that averages 25 pounds a year, 0.5 pounds a week.

You are doing an amazing job -- much better than me. You should be proud of your accomplishments and remember that normal healthy weight loss is 2-4 pounds a week :)
